Driving Directions

From Glasgow, via Erskine Bridge (A898), take A82 toward Balloch and Stirling’. Follow this road, passing Dumbarton to the roundabout with "Flying Geese". Turn right towards Stirling along the A811. This is known as the "Old Military Road". Follow this road, through Balloch, then Gartocharn. Approximately 2 miles further on, round a sharp right-hand bend, you'll see Kilmaronock Manse on your left, immediately before the Kilmaronock Church. Turn down the lane between the two buildings and in about 100 metres, turn left into the courtyard of the cottage.

From Edinburgh or Stirling. Follow signs for A811, Erskine Bridge. After Drymen the road takes a right hand turn at a junction. Travel for 2 miles; the road goes down a dip and back up. On your left hand side is Badshalloch Farm. As you pass a small cottage on your right, just by the entrance to the graveyard, you will see Kilmaronock church. Turn right down the lane between the church and Kilmaronock Manse and in about 100 metres, turn left into the courtyard of the cottage.

FAQ's

Are pets allowed?

Yes, we can accommodate one or two dogs. Please let us know if you plan to bring your pet.

Is there a restaurant/pub within walking distance?

The nearest pub or restaurant is 3 miles away in the village of Drymen. Unfortunately it is along a busy road with no pavement. However there is a regular local bus service which runs until 10.30 pm. There is also a reliable taxi service.

Can you recommend somewhere for good food?

Yes The Clachan Inn, Drymen is superb. However in season it is very busy and we advise booking in advance which we will be happy to do for you.
